Cat Hair loss, HELP!!!?

My female cat, 2 years old, has recently developed something that looks like the photo seen at

%26lt; http://www.cat-health-guide.org/image-files/catmiliaryderma2.jpg %26gt;

It is in the center of her back just above her ';shoulder blades.'; I noticed it when hair loss was about 1/4'; circle about a week ago. I put some medicine on it, thinking it might be a minor injury. The hair loss is now larger. It itches her at times. I have noticed no other unusual condition/behavior. Appetite is normal. How should I treat this? Do i have to give her more regular bath, i use a medicated shampoo called ANIMED. Plz help...Cat Hair loss, HELP!!!?
No one here can diagnose you cat remotely. Even a vet reading your question would have to examine the cat before they could determine the problem.

Your cat needs to be seen by a vet who can diagnose the problem and prescribe the proper treatment.

As to bathing a cat - you don't need to bath cats, they keep themselves clean.

Bathing can cause problems like dry skin.

You would only need to bath a cat if they got into something really messy like paint or oil or a skunk.

We have had 26 cats over the past 22 years and none of them every needed a bath.

Take your cat to the vet so that they can look at the problem and figure out what is wrong.Cat Hair loss, HELP!!!?
it could be allergies. I just got back from the vet, and my cat had scabs all over the back of her neck and shoulder blades. The vet said it was allergies (ragweed) i didnt even no cats could get them!

it cost me $25 to get some medications.

It also could be ringworm. I know that it is circular and the hair falls out.

You should probaby just bring the cat to the vets, it sounds like it is getting worst. It will give you peace of mind.
it possibly could be the shampoo. maybe flees. or maybe too many baths if i'm not mistaken they should only have a certain amount of baths per week or month. maybe call a local vet and ask them and tell them whats going on
it could also be ringworm which you can catch from your cat. Vet is always best answer but not the most realistic. Try pet smart they sell ring worm cream. it could be a sore or allergy also so try a gentle shampoo before cream
