can someone please give me an idea of what's going on or has anyone other than me experienced this? I'll make this as short as possible and add details if you guys have any questions
I'm 22 and approximately 3 months after i had my son (who is 2 now) i experienced severe hairloss which left me with half of my hair! After reading up on it i came to the conclusion it is normal due to all the extra hormones the body produces during pregnancy. However i aslo read that it's supposed to resolve itself within a year max and hair growth should return to normal. Mine didn't. I was really hopeful that i would get my hair back but 1 year passed then the second and now i don't know what to do. I went to 2 male doctors who casually looked over my head, moved a few strands and reported i had a healthy scalp and it's normal. I'm unconvinced. Am i just losing my hair because i'm aging?
Some people recommended i get my thyroid checked but i have no symptoms of hormonal imbalance apart from my hairloss and i had a blood test for stds and everything in general which came back negative for everything...would that include my thyroid?
my hair has thinned out and my hairline is very wide no matter what part i use. I don't want to be balding at 22 =( I also stopped breastfeeding my son about 4 days ago and some people said because i wasn't taking my multivitamin during breastfeeding that's why i lost my hair but other people argued that multivitamins have nothing to do with the actual hair growth!!
somebody please tell me what's going on
this is what my hair looks like

I lost tons of hair when my kids turned 4 months. It happened again later and my Dr. did a complete physical and thyroid check. The thyroid was normal but she said it may be because I'm anemic and I had lost a lot of weight on a low carb diet. She gave my an iron and biotin supplement and it subsided. Have you lost or gained weight recently? Do you get enough nutrients in your diet? (fatty fish, protein, fresh fruit and veggies?). If you answered no to everything, find a Dr. who will give you a complete blood work and physical.POST natal hair loss! HELP 10 points!! 2 years on?
This appears to be a stress-related hair loss from a sudden drop/loss of the hormone progesterone. In addition, you body is under additional stress when you breast feed, so stopping will definitely help to get your hormone levels back to normal.
Did you get a lot of extra hair growth during the pregnancy? If so, this also supports the hormone theory.
Sounds like you could use an adaptogen (like rhodiola or american ginseng) to support your body's immunity and stress of weaning your baby off the breast. You should certainly get back to using your multi-vitamin and add in a Fish Oil.
Flax seed is beneficial for balancing hormones and very natural vs. using synthetic hormones, like the pill.
Gosh, keep on this...your hormones will eventually get back to where they were before the stress your body went under during pregnancy %26amp; lactation.
Good Luck! You'll bounce back and so will your locks!
